Moors

There might have been a lake to see
whose size began to shrink
until its shallow quality
signalled you could not sink.

Take care for you can sink in mud
and drown forever lost.
The plants deceive: below ‘s still flood
that threatens lives to cost.

Don’t deviate but use the path
that leads on firmer ground.
A moor is not for you to bath
but marsh plants all around.
