Enlightenment

The Enlightenment of man
did not really help us much.
It is true, we know we can
live digitally now and such.

The genetic predilection
has not changed that much, I fear,
we still strive for the erection
of each person’s own career.

Really enlightened we could be,
in command of greed and hate,
a civilized great entity
responsible and up to date!
