A thistle is known for its bristles but see:
it can also be softer like cotton wool.
And now we compare it with how we can be:
sometimes so gentle and other times cool.
The sharper the contrast the stronger its pull
whose extremes are presented in poles.
Both together form the entity full
of energy – like mates of souls.
Aggressive spikes won’t be ignored as such.
They belong in our world without doubt.
But we must peacefully balance the touch
to acknowledge what life is about.
