When grounds are covered thick with moss
you know they mostly lie in shadows.
They suffer from ongoing loss
of light – unlike the brighter meadows.
So you would probably expect
that nothing else is growing there.
Surprisingly you can detect
that some plants simply do not care.
These plants are strong, defy all troubles.
Coming out they proudly claim
that in spite of moss or rubbles
they can always reach their aim.
Needless to compare their power
to what people can achieve
when they do not shy or cower,
though aware of what they leave.
