Once upon a time there was a culture
which presented what man did and knew.
Artefacts are left as if a vulture
descended on it and destroyed each view.
Arrogance, hubris and condescension
made conquerors abolish all that was.
Progress was stopped, and banned in detention
a lot of wise and scientific laws.
Like fairy tales arising from the learning
which people think of as in older days,
appreciation of old cultures is returning
and slowly we discover their rich ways.
