Some thing of old make viewers guess
which purpose it once served,
as in this picture, I confess
and wonder why it’s curved.
The thing looks solid but with chink,
part of a greater whole,
taken from a mill, I think,
that played a special role.
I like the idea to preserve
such monsters from old days.
They touch some engineering nerve
that up till now still stays.
