Sunrise

Of course the orange in the drink
like the sun that rises
looks healthy and we do not think
of spirits it disguises.

The rising sun gives hope each day
that life goes on forever
so that we disregard what may
skip all our endeavour.

The natural course of things will change,
it certainly won’t improve.
We meddled in the global range,
which now we can’t remove.
