Branches are barriers in streams
which slow them surely down it seems.
Let beavers have their selfish way
and waters will be stopped and stay.
So those dependent on the stream
don’t share the animals‘ esteem.
They hate their work that day by day
builds new dams in the stream’s way.
In the night when people dream
tireless beavers in a team
chop the wood that then they lay
across the stream and form a bay.
