Not much seems left of the big town,
some houses stand like symbols of what was.
Rubbles of others have been falling down
Blocks of concrete were moved with iron claws.
People stare sadly at the devastation
of homes, shops, streets and trees.
They look for neighbours or a close relation
to help survive, support the one who flees.
One cannot understand such an aggression
that condones what is happening in war.
It only furthers people’s fear and their depression
when day by day the bombers above roar.
Not living in a war zone you are free
to feel with those who suffer empathy.
