Half grateful

This grate is only half full of flakes
from dandelion parachute seeds,
however, imagine the number it takes
of the yellow flowery weeds!

The yellow petals look nice, it is true,
and hares love to taste them as well,
but the billions of seeds that from them ensue
almost all take root where they fell.

But I’m gateful this grid keeps the seeds at bay.
They are caught in the grated squares,
where they won’t stay at the end of the day
or think the whole world is just theirs.

Aus meinem Buch:

Poems, one picture – one poem – one page. About the sea and man and general problems and nature around us. The subjects are contemporary and everlasting, some. You can enjoy and grin or think about their contents.
