Misunderstanding

We hope not all babies are sold,
I want to keep my own.
Such practice would indeed be cold,
thinking of it alone.

But then the price shows the intention:
the sale is meant for things,
because the 10₤ they do mention
no living being brings.

But parents‘ interest is caught
not to miss a real good buy.
They guess what they for 10₤ bought
is good enough to try.
