In my shoes

When shoes are old you may well whine;
better advice: the shoes to shine.
Then feet up, barbecue and dine
with one or two glasses of wine.

Putting your feet in my old shoes
can make you feel my every bruise
and understand what blow my fuse,
see when I don’t have much to lose.

But rather would I like to win,
know where I stand in my own skin.
Only then can I begin
to feel proud and keep up my chin.

Aus meinem Buch:

In times when people find it difficult to make up their minds because so many different possibilities present themselves, I find it helpful to formulate some of these ideas. And the shortest and most effective way to do so is to put the thoughts in rhymes. The trigger for which is always a picture. And the conclusion often comes as a surprise.
