What you love and what you treasure
need not always be a pleasure.
Sometimes you feel a piercing pain
when what you love is loved in vain.
On the other hand a treasure
enhances your life for good measure.
It makes you calm and lets you rest
until you know what’s for the best.
Silver, diamonds and gold
are treasured as they don’t grow old.
But many people have been slain
for such a treasure – all in vain.
