Mirrors

A mirror does not always render
a proper image of its counterpart;
not only just returning from a bender
when the reflection is too sharp a dart.

Your eyes refuse to see what is reflected.
The mirror lies, for you are not that old,
but glad your fuzzy mind has just detected
your feelings really fit into the mould.

The quality a mirror can supply
depends on smoothness of its face.
The ocean as a mirror shows you why.
Each tiny ruffle kicks the picture out of place.

Aus meinem Buch:

Picture always open my mind for an idea. So that is why I like writing a poem about this idea. I especially appreciate paintings by artists, which I was allowed to use. What characterizes my books is that you can start reading wherever with whichever picture catches your eyes. So the perfect present for people who like starting at the end or just surf through the pages.
