Calling a harmless insect bug
at once invites hard feelings
as if challenged by a thug
with which you are then dealing.
The prejudice you love and nurse
that bugs must be destroyed
most of the time proves as a curse
and should be null and void.
We know now and appreciate
species‘ variety,
and pray it might not be too late:
selfish anxiety!
