Icicles grow slowly drop by drop
when snow starts melting on roofs.
But then the frost must put a stop
to the melting process’s proofs.
The enemy of frost, the sun,
will in the end still win.
So better catch what has begun
before the heat sets in.
Although in winter periods of cold
the icicle’s growth may stagger,
a danger when it does not hold
and tumbles down as dagger.
The ice pick is a deadly foe
when hitting unawares,
and from great heights it is not slow.
Make sure somebody cares.
