Wooden body

Choose a tree that has been cut,
peel off its brownish bark,
discover how it grew then, but
leave each distinguished mark.

Expose the skulpture that you find
and stress the form it fits.
Before the body turns you blind,
spray clothing on that sits.

A swimming-trunk seems suitable
for such a trunk of tree,
headless but irrefutable
the body’s meant to be.
