Where land is flat and unimpeded
by hills or mountains or a town
some wind and waterproof is needed
when wind blows clouds of rain load down.
Pointless the use of an umbrella,
it either breaks or flies away,
or you shove it into a fella
who you can’t see because of spray.
But with oilskins and your good wellies,
a warm cap and a scarf, you see
people outside, not just on tellies,
but in real life as they can be.
The weather may do what it can,
it doesn’t stop a northern man!
