It’s autumn when life seems to stop
because leaves tumble down
and are blown off or simply drop,
turn yellow, red or brown.
Then everyone becomes aware
how many leaves a tree
sprouted to feel no longer bare
but build a canopy.
We feel it is the right of trees
to cut their effort short
and save their energy to please
next year for new support.
