Many different things can matter,
to whom depends on many things.
To some their income must be fatter,
others care what the climate brings.
We cannot save what others squander,
we cannot help where others fail,
but everybody can still ponder
what private actions would entail.
What can we do to make things better?
How can we give back what we took?
Certainly not by the letter
but possibly still by the book.
