Temptation

He can resist ‘most everythin’
a famous man once said.
But the temptation to give in
keeps gnawing really bad.

Against a bait that tempts to grab
one must be tough and strong,
because the devil waits to stab
your resolve: to go wrong.

The trouble is, not just one time
you must resist temptation,
but every day keep the sublime
aim up as expectation.
