Nettles that have stings attached
defend the ground they need.
Hardly a plant that really matched
regardless of its seed.
They spread their leaves with tiny hair
which penetrates our skin
and leaves some nasty poison there.
And so the nettles win.
Tolerated different plants
must cope with lower ground.
Ivy, for instance, sees a chance
when it’s not upwards bound.
