Eventually a heavy cloud must burst
and splash the earth with water.
Often with more than the ground’s thirst,
sometimes the downpour ’s shorter.
No barrel holds a lasting flood,
umbrellas don’t help much,
even firm ground will turn to mud,
shoes hate the sticking sludge.
Seen from the inside in a chair,
with a hot cup of tea,
there’s no complaint from your footwear:
comfort in raining spree.
