Old pots can still fulfil their aim
unless they have a rift.
Their function always was the same:
containing things to lift.
Not only liquids could be filled
but corn or flour, too.
And when too much it simply spilled
without a lid to screw.
To make a bigger pot the clay
takes a long time to bake,
and then on shelves it has to stay
for finer glazing’s sake.
