Only rock

Only rock without the roll
of the blanket of green grass
takes the blazing climate’s toll,
stands as one of rocking class.

Ancient layers of the seas
that covered our planet wide
with sediments to some degrees
are exposed on either side.

Covered by armour microscopic,
too small to see with human eyes,
billions of algae were the topic
of the rock that bare here lies.
