Seldom is the sea so calm
that you could as well just wait
in the next port without harm.
Caution never is too late.
Because sailors know it best:
suddenly the sea can fight
that no chance remains to rest
or sleep through a quiet night.
Consequently a decision
what a captain orders done
might evoke the crew’s derision,
but storm stress is never fun.
