Neighbours

Your neighbour’s garden is his pride.
Carefully chosen plants adorn
beds and borders at the side.
Hedges are precisely shorn.

But, alas, your garden sprouts
weeds and thistles with their bloom.
And your angry neighbour shouts
„Cut them down! Don’t let them loom!“

Neighbouring gardens challenge peace.
Every plant can cause a fight.
Some evidently never cease
to vex the neighbour and his plight.

Aus meinem Buch:

The way how people treat nature and handle their lives presents a full range of cases to think about. So it’s no wonder that photos and pictures inspire me to express such thoughts in concise rhymes. The pandemic standstill seems to provoke even more deeply to enjoy the varieties of a life that is still brimming. This is the reason why this book, like all my others, expresses the current feeling of our contemporary life with its specific problems.
