Desperate attempts

These monuments point to the sky
in an attempt to grasp whatever
they can reach, or why
should they be open to the sky?

They might be desperate for chances
or only wait to be complete,
tired of catching nonplussed glances
of people who they have to meet.

Mysterious buildings such as these
stimulate my fantasies,
or why should those securities
like barbed wire help them, please?
