The flood drives animals and plants
till they are stopped by poles,
which gives them quite a different chance
to save their living souls.
They find a place where they can cling
when water is receding.
This works like our safety ring
which is self-esteem feeding.
To know when lost you can be found
by love, respect or care,
and still be given some safe ground
which nowadays is rare.
