Campfires

Campfires have a romantic side:
we think of calm and rest.
After a long and stressful ride
arriving in the west.

But everywhere campfires draw
people to gather round
to maybe sing and tell some lore
or listen to the sound.

You hear the crackle of the fire,
you smell the burning wood.
Your front is getting dry and dryer,
your back saved by a hood.
