Almost like the arms of squids
the flower’s petals spread.
They can close them, too, like lids
when it rains, instead.
Arms are mobile, as they should,
to grab, extend and touch,
for forward movement not so good,
only with squids and such.
Sepia colours might attract
birds and bees for pollination.
Squids prefer their use in fact
for camouflaging machinations.
