No wind, the sea a mirror of the cloud,
no man, no boat, no bird
with common noises, shrill and loud,
surround sound mixed and blurred.
An absolutely noiseless calm
envelops sea and land,
for my strained nerves a soothing balm
which makes me stop and stand.
I deeply breathe the fresh sea air,
I close my eyes and think.
Such moments are extremely rare
and better than a shrink.
