Not all the stars that shine are far away,
some glitter on a stage to make us dream.
They present ideals on a well lit tray
with characters that to us real may seem.
We like to put ourselves in their big shoes
and feel important to the world below.
This is, of course, the clever playwright’s ruse
to lure us into books or films or show.
In real life such a glitter carries danger.
Its shine can dwindle faster than you think.
And in the dark again you will feel stranger,
because to former life you lost the link.
