A single tree

A single tree stands out and is admired
because its form looks greater on its own.
Nobody asks if it maybe gets tired
or even feels bad standing all alone.

The wood where tree and tree stand close together
makes a strong unit of a common mind.
The trees close ranks behind the fields of heather
were they in company their consolation find.

A single person though might be admired
when they stand firm among a sea of mob
and aren’t afraid of harassment, or fired
because the others think they are a snob.

Aus meinem Buch:

Poems: My poems can be either useful to boost a lively discussion or you enjoy them quietly, not more than one at a time. The metre sometimes differs from stanza to stanze, so they are not always easy on the eye. Hopefully, however, you have fun and find some poems that you like best.
