Our planet likes to draw the line
between the sky and earth in green.
However, deserts give a different shine,
which can from satellites be seen.
To cherish and preserve our vegetation
we set some aims, although rather sparse.
Desertification soon defies plantation,
and climate changes bite us in the afternoon.
The belt of green gets small and smaller
the longer people on the earth do dwell.
Not only are our houses now built taller,
but far and wider roads expunge its spell.
