The stiff construction of the bone
 keeps us erect when standing.
 But with this rigidness alone
a fall would be tough landing.
So here come joints into the play
to link the bones in places
that are useful, too, to stay
or sit or move in cases.
Thus joints enable any motion
 starting in our head,
 which obeys some finer notion
of where we stop or tread.
